Evelyn Synder's Portfolio
I have been involved in art for most of my life. My Mother, Olivia Lay, was a well-known artist in Palatka, She taught me how see and observe colors, shadows and shapes in the world around us. I majored in Design in college, primarily with textile arts. After a career first in Craft retail, then in AutoCAD design, I have now returned to art to express my inner artist. Influenced by the career path I chose, detailed realistic work is my preference. The natural world, animals and plant life are my primary subjects. Smaller works are typically with colored pencil, while paint is my choice for larger subjects.
