Frances Purdham's Portfolio
For more than twenty years, painting has been an evolving journey for Frances Purdham. Before picking up the brush in earnest, Frances spent many years as a hairdresser serving Florida’s creative community. Her salon chair became a meeting place for artists, painters, and makers, and through countless conversations with those clients, she found herself drawn toward their world of creativity. Encouraged by the artists she met, she began taking classes from them and discovered a passion that would become central to her life.
Working primarily in acrylic, Frances creates vibrant paintings inspired by her love of flowers. She is drawn to their color, movement, and individuality, using bold compositions and expressive brushwork to capture their energy rather than simply their likeness. Each piece reflects both the joy she finds in nature and the personal creative journey that brought her to painting.
Frances continues to develop a style that is distinctly her own. Her goal is simple but meaningful: to create work with such a recognizable character that viewers immediately know it is hers. Through color, texture, and floral forms, her paintings celebrate beauty, growth, and the creative spark that can bloom at any stage of life.
