Laura O'Neal's Portfolio
 

Laura is a mixed media artist working mostly in acrylic. She also paints murals and writes prose and poetry. Her work is described as “whimsical, colorful and romantic.” Originally from Northeast Ohio, Laura has lived in St Augustine since 1987.

Laura aspires to be an artist who is tuned into the present moments of LIFE as inspiration for her art. Her word-swirl can be found partially obscured in the backgrounds of her paintings; serving as the energy body of the piece.

Energetic and expressive, the artist believes inspiration is all around us everywhere we are, awaiting to be found like hidden treasure.

Laura spent many years as a visual display artist and interior space planner and holds a BFA in Art & Design. She is also a teacher of Yoga and Pilates. Four humans, a really cute dog and a super friendly cat call her “Mom.”

Laura was an artist and member of Butterfield Garage Gallery from 2012-2019, where she served on the Board for three terms. “Those years were instrumental in my personal and artistic growth.”

In 2019 she co-opened ArtBox Gallery in St Augustine. After a successful five years there, she currently shows her work at The Bart on Aviles, and of course, the GAP.
